  • What I remembered most about Vietnam

My 6-day trip to Hanoi and Halong Bay has come to an end. A lot of good memories.

    Rank 7 - Christian
Allie: Christian asked me to say "Hi" to you!
Christian is from Switzerland - he was once an elective student staying with us when we were doing Paediatrics Specialty Clerkship - 2 years ago.
And I met him on our way to Halong Bay! We joined the trips of the same agent, but we were on different boats. We met again when we were in Surprise Cave. So happy to see you haha~!

    Rank 6 - 擔挑
Very commonly used by hawkers in Vietnam - they sell fruits, breads, masks, souvenirs, clothes etc etc. You can see them everywhere in the city and in the suburb.

    Rank 5 -  Food
Food in Vietnam are yummy and cheap! Especially the Spring Rolls (春卷) and Pho (河粉)!
There are food stalls EVERYWHERE on the street - we did not try any of them although they are look yummy - this is certainly a very typical and unique scene of Vietnam.

    Rank 4 - Non
"Non" is the Vietnamese hat - many people wear it there. Every of us also bought one - it blocks the sun and it is not hot wearing it - I love it!

    Rank 3 - Perfume Pagoda
The boat ride to Perfume Pagoda was really enjoyable - the scenery was really great - no wonder people describe it as 潑墨山水.
There are many Pagodas in the area but we only visited two of them.
The Pagoda 南天第一門 was in fact a cave up the mountain - such a huge cave with a special structure - such a good work by nature.

Rank 2 - Halong Bay 下龍灣
We joined a 2-day boat trip to this World Heritage. Its beauty really cannot be described in words....
Relaxing under the sun on the sun deck was so enjoyable - felt so peaceful.
The Surprise Cave was also nice!

    Rank 1 - Motorbikes!!
You cannot imagine how many motorbikes there are (and how many people and variety of goods are on them) if you haven't been to Vietnam.
The followings are all COMMON scenes in Hanoi.

It was a very fun and enjoyable trip - many thanks to Jessica and Judith.
Vietnam is a good place to visit - consider her as your next destination!

  • I am an O&G trainee

Two weeks into my new life as an MO
    This is really stressful
So many old things that I have already forgotten..
And so many new things to learn

Everyday I am so exhausted from work
And sleep deprivation is severe for I have to get up at 6:30am every day, finish work at ~7pm and still need to study and study....

    Already had 2 calls
Thanks to the other MOs who have helped out a lot.... both 1st call and 2nd calls....
And midwives.... who are all a lot more experienced than I am
There are really a lot to learn.... both book work and practical stuff

Tomorrow I will have my third call day.....
SUNDAY..... I will be the only 1st call........
    Good luck to me....
